HTC Radar(Review)-Mango OS

Windows Phone may be better known as the operating system, which is more often used for the Nokia smartphones. However, HTC also has some smartphone, which uses similar OS and one of them is the HTC Radar which runs on Windows Phone 7.5 Mango operating system.

Desain : The  HTC Radar has dimension of 120.5mm(H) x 61.5mm(W), with a thickness of only 10.9mm and weight about 137 grams. So  the device is arguably, quite thin and lightweight, comfortable to grip and put in a pocket. The material used on the HTC Radar is a combination of unibody with plastic and looks elegant with aluminum frame.

On the right side there are volume and camera shutter button, the left side there is a microUSB port. And the upper side there are the power/lock and 3.5mm audio hole, moreover on the lower side there is only a small microphone hole.

At the front there are a screen, VGA front camera, light sensor located on the left and right corner of the screen. At the bottom of the screen there are three capacitive touch buttons, (back, home, and search). And behind you'll find a 5MP camera with LED flash in the upper left corner and also there are the HTC logo and Windows Phone logo.

Screen and UI : The HTC Radar come with 3.8-inch S-LCD capacitive multitouch touch screen with resolution of 480 x 800 pixels and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. The User Interface is used the Mango is a typical of the Windows Phone, features and icon that appears in the form of boxes. And if you slide the screen to the right, will be present all the menus in a position that extends vertically.

The HTC Radar comes with HTC Hub feature, which is equipped with a number of widgets such as clocks, weather, etc and its also a differentiator from the other WP Mango devices.

To download and purchase applications, the Windows Phone operating system has the Windows Marketplace. There are thousands of applications(free or paid) that can be installed if you already have a Windows Live ID. Interestingly for paid applications, many of which have a free trial so you can try it before deciding to purchase the application.

The HTC Radar has Internet Explorer browser and Integrate with Bing search engines, there are also several other supporting applications such as Zune to play multimedia files, Maps are connected with Bing Maps, Photo Enhancer, and others.

Camera : Although it only comes with a 5MP camera resolution with autofocus and LED Flash, but the camera also features the f/2.2 aperture for shooting in low light and provides BSI sensor with Photo Enhancer application which allows the user to edit and filter images.

Moreover also has various features such as Scene Modes, Effects, Panorama Shot, Burst Shots, White Balance, Brightness, Contrast, Saturation, Sharpness, ISO, Face Detection, Metering Mode, and Flicker Adjustment.

For video recording has supported up to 720p HD resolution. There are 3 size options are 720p HD video, VGA, and QVGA. Another features there are Arrangements Effects, Continuous Focus, White Balance, Brightness, Contrast, Saturation, Sharpness, etc.

Performance : The HTC Radar powered by 1 GHz Scorpion Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon with Adreno 205 GPU, whose performance is also supported by 512MB of ram memory. To play games such as Need For Speed ​​Hot Pursuit and Splinter Cell, just a little lag when a new game starts and then runs smoothly.

To store various files that you have, available internal memory capacity of 8GB, and has a 1520 mAh battery power able for up to 485 minutes (WCDMA)/up to 600 minutes(GSM) talk time and up to 535 hours(WCDMA)/480 hours(GSM) standby time.

Connectivity : HTC Radar runs on 2G and 3G/HSDPA networks, so good for use in accessing the internet, with access speeds of up to 14.4 Mbps HSDPA/5.76 Mbps HSUPA. And for other connectivity, there are Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and misroUSB v2.0.
