Samsung Corby II(Review)-Touchscreen Candy Bar Colorful Mobile Phone

Samsung Corby II is not a smartphone that has a complicated  operating system and a super fast processor. But this device has a cool design and colorful and most importantly has an affordable price. this phone is more suited for those who prefer a simple display without a complicated operating system.

Design : The Samsung Corby II using plastic materials with touchscreen candy bar design,. has dimension of 109.9 x 60.6 x 11.7 mm, and weight around 102 grams so has the size of a longer and thinner than its predecessor.

Screen : The Samsung Corby II come with 3.14" TFT capacitive touchscreen with image resolution of QVGA 240 x 320 pixels, and using the factory default OS (proprietary OS), however the Corby II still equipped with TouchWiz display.

Display the home screen when viewed at a glance looks like a display similar to the Samsung Android smartphone, and there are 3 home screen that you can fill the widget.

At the top there is a display connectivity as well as notification that seemed similar to the Android mobile phone display. To view them you can press the arrow keys located on the top of the screen.

To view the menu, there are 3 menu screens and position of the icon menu you can customize as you want.
Camera : The Samsung Corby II equipped with 2 megapixels fixed focus camera, without flash and have the camera settings like shooting mode (single, smile shot, panorama), EV, image resolution (2 MP, 1.3 MP, 0.3 MP, 0.1MP), self timer (2, 5, 10 seconds), white balance (AWB, incandescent, cloudy, daylight, fluorescent), exposure metering (matrix, center, spot), night mode, image quality (excellent, good, normal), and zoom-in 2x.

While for the video recording capable of running at 15 frames per second speed, with a QVGA resolution, and can be saved in MP4 format. 

Connectivity : : The Samsung Corby II work on Quadband GSM, offer connectivity such as  Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP support, microSD up to 16GB, 3.5mm jack audio to listen music through the headset, and if you want to connect Corby II to a PC you can use a microUSB port.

Browser : The Corby II can open the HTML web, but is not equipped with accelerometer or other auto rotate technology, so must press a special button when you want to show the browser page to the form of landscape. unfortunately this device is not supported by 3G, so for browsing, you can use Wi-Fi connectivity or use the GPRS / EDGE network.

Music and Video Player : The Corby II can play music files such as MP3, WMA, WAV, and AAC formats, and can be played maximum, when using headphones or multimedia speakers. Interestingly, there is DNSe technology  on the music player, thus producing a better sound, and also has choice of EQ characters such as normal, auto, pop, rock, jazz, dance, and classical.

While for the video, The Corby II  support for formats MP4 and 3GP and can be played in landscape or portrait full screen.  In addition to Audio / Video Player  this phone also has an FM radio.



Messaging Features : The Samsung Corby II can send messages such as SMS, MMS, Email, and IM. SMS can be sent to a maximum of 160 characters.  For mail, you can use email like Gmail, Yahoo Mail, and Windows Live Mail. For IM, there are default IM like Windows Live Messenger (MSN), Yahoo Messenger (YM), Gtalk, and Facebook Chat.

Office applications : There is a Picsel File Viewer office applications, these applications can be used only to open office files, but can not be used for editing. Files that can be opened are. Doc,. Pdf,. Ppt, and Xls.
