In 2012, many smartphones are reinforced with Quad Core processors from various brands and this upper-class chips are manufactured by leading companies such as Qualcomm, NVIDIA, and Texas Instruments. As we know for quad core even dual core smartphones, most are still priced at a relatively expensive, so not everyone can afford to buy it.
But recently heard a news, MediaTek a Taiwan-based company launched a new chip called the MT6577, designated for affordable smartphones, even according to some sources say, this chip will be used for smartphones with a price range of under $ 200. Then what was interesting about this Chip..??, the MT6577 consists of 1GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor dual core processor, PowerVR SGX graphics series 5,and HSPA for 3G modem.
So the smartphones which equipped with this chip, will be able to support the Android 4.0 ICS operating system with a 720p screen, and can also support an 8 megapixel camera, 1080p video recording, dual-band 802.11n WiFi, GPS, and many more.
Hopefully with the presence of the Mediatek chip, there will be many smartphones that run on Android 4.0 ICS system at an affordable price. So we wait, who will use this chip.
