BlackBerry Bold 9900 is a smartphone
from RIM, which already began to be launched in August 2011. These devices
offer a combination of input media between the soft QWERTY keyboard and
precision touchscreen to enhance the user experience.
Design : the Blackberry Bold 9900 has a slim
design, with a thickness of only 10.5 mm and a weight of about 130 grams. Comes
with candybar form, with a bit wide dimensions and a combination of a touch
screen display, optical trackpad and of course the QWERTY keypad.
The design looks elegant and classy, this
can be seen with the use of stainless material that surrounds the Blackberry
Bold 9900. In front there is a screen measuring 2.8 inches, 4 physical buttons
and trackpad on the menu and navigation, as well as full QWERTY keyboard is
very soft to use for typing.
At the rear there is only the main camera
and the LED flash lights, battery cover made of lightweight plastic with black carbon
motif, and the BB logo in the middle of it. All around the battery cover there
is a black frame doff for a better grip.
On
the left
side there is a 3.5 mm audio
jack and USB
micro holes, the right side there are 4 physical buttons are volume up,
mute, volume down and camera convinience key
/ button. While the upper side of the phone there is a physical button to
lock and unlock
the keys.
Screen
and UI : the Blackberry Bold 9900 come with 2.8” LCD TFT capacitive
touchscreen, 640 x
480 pixels resolution with a depth reached 287 dpi and images produced by the screen is quite sharp
and bright.
The
main interface
is divided into several pages that you can sweep to the left and right :
- All: contains all the applications and the menu on the Bold 9900.
- Favorites: shows your favorite applications, which previously had your first mark.
- Media: This page contains the menu music, picture, video, video camera, podcasts and music store.
- Downloads: all third-party applications that you download will go to this page.
- Frequent: contains a list of applications you use most frequently, making it easier to search.
Performance : the Blackberry Bold 9900 run on BlackBerry 7 OS and powered by
1.2 GHz QC 8655 Processor whose performance is also supported by 768MB Ram
memory. For storage
media, RIM provides a storage
capacity of 8 GB eMMC, that can still be expanded through microSD
slot supporting up to 32 GB cards.
This smartphone has a battery with a capacity of 1230 mAh which can be
replaced/recharged, and claimed
to be able to use for up to 6.3 hours(GSM talk time), up to 12.8
day(GSM stand by), up to 5.9 hours(UMTS talk time), up to 12.8 day(UMTS stand
by, and also up to 50 hours(Audio Playback Time), 7.4 hours(Video playback time).
Camera
: Behind these devices the user will find a 5MP camera with LED Flash, Geotagging,
4x digital zoom, but unfortunately there's no autofocus feature. Some scene modes can be selected, from
the camera are Auto, Face Detection, Potrait, Sports,
Landscape, Party, Close-Up, Snow, Beach, Night and Text.
The
BlackBerry Bold 9900 is capable of
recording 720p
HD video, and there are several scenes recording, which can be selected
such as Potrait, Landscape, Close Up and Beach.
Connectivity
: The BlackBerry Bold 9900 work on Tri-Band HSPA+
and Quad-Band GSM/EDGE, also offer connectivity such as Dual-Band Wi-Fi -
802.11 b/g/n at 2.4 GHz and 802.11 a/n at 5 GHz, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR support, Built-in
GPS/a GPS, and NFC.
