At the conference Google I/O 2012 in San Francisco, finally Google officially announced their latest mobile operating system, ie Android 4.1 version or better known as the Jelly Bean. The Jelly Bean operating system has many updates from the previous version or Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
Such improvements are, more subtle UI views and fast, improved of graphics quality, a new notification, Icon and the widget now resized automatically, Google Now, Voice Search Improved , Offline voice typing, Improved of rendering speed in the browser and reduce memory usage, Improved of HTML5 video, Improvement in keyboard, Encryption applications.
Some sources also mention, in the demonstration, Google showcased some of the features in the Jelly Bean such as :
Voice Typing : This feature allows the users no longer need to type on the virtual keyboard, because with this feature, user will be able to dictate what you want in messages typed without an Internet connection.
Keyboard can predict the words: if the user is typing a message, then the keyboard will intelligently predict what word you want to next type.
Butter Project : to increase the overall performance of the Android operating system, such as increasing the system frame level, so consistent at 60 frames per second. Even able to give effect to battery power saving, because it relates to the processor.
Camera application updates : camera view look more smooth and simple compared to the Ice Cream Sandwich. The Jelly Bean OS also has an update on the camera application, which allows users in a look at the photos. Simply move your finger up the screen to remove the image.
Google Now, virtual assistant features like Siri : this feature will give answers to all questions and commands from the user and support for 18 languages. The Google Now can also record your daily routine and help look back at history sites have been visited by users.
For example, if you are a user of bus transportation, the Google Now will send notification of the bus schedule, you normally ride.
In the demonstration, a Google employee tried this feature by asking: "What is the definition of a robot?". This feature replied: "A machine capable of executing multiple of complex actions.".
The Google confirmed the Jelly Bean operating system will be used on the Google Nexus S, Samsung Galaxy Nexus, and Motorola Xoom tablet are ready to be launched in mid-July 2012.
