Samsung Galaxy Fit(Review)-Android Froyo Smartphone with 5MP Camera

Samsung Galaxy Fit is a smartphone that can be said, quite famous from Galaxy series. The class in the middle between of the Galaxy Mini and Galaxy Ace or arguably better than the Galaxy Mini, but still below the Galaxy Ace. The Samsung Galaxy Fit has a code name the S5670 series and it was announced at the 2011 Mobile World Congress.

Design : The Samsung Galaxy Fit has dimension of  110.2 x 61.2 x 12.6 mm and weight of about 108grams. The design looks more elegant with chrome around the body, appearing in glossy shades and on the back decorated with vertical stripes textures. This device also has a texture that not slippery so comfortable when held or enter the pocket.

Around the device there are zoom/volume switch with the micro SD slot hotswap character located on the left, the lock/unlock button on the right, port 3.5 mm audio jack and micro USB port at the top. On the back of the phone user will find the camera and the loudspeaker, while in the front dominated by the screen and also the homescreen button between menu access and back which located below it.

Screen : The Samsung Galaxy Fit come with 3.31” screen with resolution of  320x240 pixels and capable of producing up to 16M colors, so the display screen is quite bright and clear and images are displayed also quite focused, sharp and rich color.

The Galaxy Fit has three default homescreen and provides a live wallpaper, while access to the notification can be found by scrolling down to the drop down menu at the top homesreen. If the user enters the main menu, will meet with the typical interface (TouchWiz), applications icons appear in a grid formation. Some distinctive features presented by Samsung in the main menu are Social Hub and Samsung Apps.

Camera : The Samsung Galaxy Fit presents a 5-megapixel autofocus camera, capable of producing images with resolutions of up to 2592 × 1944 pixels, unfortunately, not supported by the LED flash. The resulting image is quite good if you are outdoors, but indoors in low light condition, the picture will look a little dark even though the focus is good. In addition to photos, this camera can record QVGA video at 15 fps.

Performance : This device run on Android 2.2 Froyo operating system and powered by 600MHz processor MSM 7227-1, to browse the menu and the transition between pages is good enough, but to open multiple applications simultaneously will slightly lag/slow.

Samsung provides storage capacity of 160MB internal memory and each sale will get a bonus 2GB memory. To store various files such as music, video, or game, maybe it still  not enough capacity, therefore there is a microSD card which can be added with a capacity of up to 32GB.

In this device there is a battery with a capacity of 1,350 mAh, which has the capability for up to 620min (2G)/up to 370min (3G) talk time and up to 640Hr(2G)/up to 460Hr(3G) standby time.

Connectivity : For users who like surfing on the web, the Galaxy Fit has a data speed of up to 7.2 Mbps HSDPA, internet access can also via Wi-Fi, and the smartphone also comes with a Mobile AP, that is a Wifi hotspots to deploy data services to other devices via Wi-Fi. Moreover, other connectivity offer are Bluetooth v 2.1, USB 2.0, and A-GPS.

Other features : The Galaxy Fit also offer other features such as Quicktype by SWYPE, FM Radio (RDS) and provides standard facilities such as Quick Office, Google Maps (GPS support), email, Google Talk, YouTube and Android Market. If its still less user can add other applications through the Android Market.
