IPS (in-plane switching) technology seems to have become the standard for the current monitor, so many vendors are competing to bring the monitor which adopt this technology. IPS (in-plane switching) technology is the highest performance technology available on the LCD display panel and have high accuracy in color, contrast and wide viewing angles.
The latest news related to the IPS monitor, now comes from Dell which announced a new monitor with a code name the U2713HM, and ready to compete with other monitors currently on the market. The Dell U2713HM comes with a AH-IPS technology or Advanced High Performance IPS, which has a color accuracy, resolution and PPI (Pixels per Inch) a better and more efficient energy consumption compared to the IPS technology.
The Dell U2713HM has a size screen of 27 inches with a resolution of 2.560 x 1440(WQHD) and is the first monitor from Dell which uses AH-IPS technology. This monitor is also claimed to be more energy efficient up to 37% than previous generations, with capability up to 178 degree viewing angle without losing color accuracy.
While for connectivity, this monitor offers several features such as HDMI, DisplayPort, VGA and DVI-D, and 4 port USB 3.0 hub. According to some sources, The Dell U2713HM AH-IPS Monitor is still present in Japan with a price range of $637
