Alcatel seems to be getting serious, entered
the competition in the smartphone market, because in addition to will launch an
Android ICS smartphone with a screen measuring 4.5", the Alcatel OT-986.
This company will also soon release another Android ICS smartphone, the Alcatel
OT-993 but has a smaller screen size of 4".
The Alcatel OT-993 powered by 1GHz
processor, run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and equipped
with 5MP autofocus camera located behind the smartphone, and capable of capturing
images with a resolution of up to 2592 x 1944 pixels. Besides having a rear
camera, the device also has a secondary camera located in the front.
For storage media, Alcatel provides 3GB of
internal memory which can be expanded via microSD with capacities of up to
32GB, and also offers connectivity such as Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot,
Bluetooth v3.0 with A2DP, microUSB v2.0, GPS, as well as 3G HSDPA with access
speeds of up to 7.2Mbps.
The Alcatel OT-993 has dimension of 124.4 x
63.9 x 11.4 mm with a weight of about 150 grams, and will present 4" TFT
capacitive touchscreen display, able to produce a resolution of 480 x 800
pixels. Unfortunately for pricing information is not known, and according to
some sources the OT-993 will be released in August 2012.
